HYUNDAI - GOALS
FOR GRASSROOTS
![]()
Wyong Soccer Club was selected as the Round 18 Winners of the Hyundai "Goals for Grassroots" competition where Hyundai donated a guaranteed $1000 PLUS $1000 per goal scored by the Mariners on the night against Perth Glory..
Thanks to Hutcho's super strike, not only did the Mariners go top of the Leage, our club is now $2000 better off. Thanks Hutch and thanks to Hyundai for their generous support of our great game of football!!
2009 REGISTRATIONS
Registration Days for the 2009 season will be Saturdays 31st January and 7th Feb at the Wyong Golf Club auditorium between 10am and 2pm. Finalisation of fees will take place at our meeting mid January but we anticipate they will remain very similar to 2008.
There will however be a $10 discount (*NOT 10% as accidently advertised previously... sorry!) offered to all players who pay FULL Rego cost on either of the two official Registration Days noted above. If not paying all on the Rego Days, then a MINIMUM of $100 sign on is required to secure a provisional place with the full balance payable asap to ensure a permanent position.
Any enquiries, please call our Registrars Steve on 0408 430 489 OR Melissa on 0415 311 116.
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
We have some excellent Team sponsorship opportunities available at the moment so if you or someone you know would like some Coastwide exposure for a small, tax deductible outlay then contact Melissa on meljarvis1@bigpond.com for a prospectus.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR REP PLAYERS
Wyong Soccer Club wishes to congratulate the following players who have made
Representative teams for the 2009 Season.
Central Coast Thunder have selected Chantelle Jarvis, Emily McNiel and Matt Rawsthorne whilst
Sophia Brack has made the Central Coast Lightning squad.
Well done to all and good luck for next season. We'll miss you!
2009 COMMITTEE
The club AGM was held on Monday 27th October and the 2009 season Committee was voted in. Despite lower numbers than hoped for, we do have some new faces on the board. Congratulations to Genevieve Thyer, Graham Chauncy and Manny Potiris on their appointments! Check the INFO page for full details....
There are a number of smaller positions not filled at our AGM and so we urge our members not already involved to please consider taking on one of these smaller roles... why not find a friend and share the load? It's not as hard as you might think and you will always have the back up and support from the rest of the Committee members if needed.
Without the extra help, these roles will have to be taken up by those already doing jobs and this causes undue stress on these people and the possible success of the club may ultimately suffer as a consequence. By taking on a role, not only are you helping share the workload but it gives you a direct voice on the direction the club is going.
Roles still to be filled are Canteen Supervisor, Groundsperson, Equipment Officer, Social & Fundraising, Sponsorship & Marketing, Cadet Referee Co-Ordinator and Club Protection Officer.
SMALL SIDED GAMES
Central Coast Football
(CCF) have confirmed that Small Sided Games will be introduced on the Central
Coast in the 2009 season for Grade 5 to Grade 7. It is envisaged
that Grades 8 to Grade 9 will be introduced in 2010 season.
The CCF website has a page dedicated to SSG on the Competition Page. Click
here to go to it. This page will be updated with the latest news, links to
FFA and FNSW websites, latest rules, overviews and other information available.
ALL AGE WOMEN's TEAM?
We have had quite a few enquiries this year about the possibility of getting a Women's team up and running in the 2009 season? We therefore ask that any interested ladies have a think about it in the off season. We will be putting out a more definite call for expressions of interest early in the new year.
